Searching for a Purpose

'If anyone could make it on pure passion, committment and heart...you could!' I got a call from a college classmate a couple of weeks ago. He asked 3 questions that stopped me short: Are you still acting? Do you just love New York that much? Why don't you just come home? 22 years ago I moved to New York City to become a star. I loved everything there was about 'putting on a show' and I was willing to do anything every day to learn how to do that better. Gradually, needing to be dependable in reality won out over trying to continually mix auditioning with a 'real job'. I'm now over 100 pounds heavier than I was 20 years ago. I practically have a degree in consciousness work and in listening to you on my best friend's show today, I recognize that I have 125 pounds of backed up passion, committment and heart without an outlet that really matters to me. I've been able to get by for a long time because I am still connected to at least one of my purposes. I share knowledge. I'm comfortable speaking with people, I enjoy helping people make connections about themselves and their work/life/process. I've been able to translate that into my daily life, but I've run out of juice. I've been operating on empty for some time. I believe the reason is, my purpose is not plugged 'in' to anything that matters to me. I don't know if this qualifies me as an amazing dreamer, but by sending this email I'm igniting the fire of my intention to devote my passion, committment and heart to finding my dream. With love & gratitude, Christien King
