Courage And Inspiration To Follow A Dream
My friend Becky Sizemore and I studied Ceramic Engineering at Georgia Tech, graduating in the late seventies. While I was doing research on electronic ceramics, she was exploring how to make beautiful glazes. We both went on to engineering careers, with Becky working real hard hat/steel toed shoe engineering jobs in the glass and refractory ceramics industries. However, she always had a passion for the artistic side of ceramics.
Recognizing that a change was in order, Becky pursued her dream, earning a masters degree in business/marketing and opening an art gallery, 'Creative Spirit,' in Decatur, Georgia. Not satisfied to just display and sell beautiful things, Becky has made it a teaching gallery, with classes available to the public in a variety of art forms. She also created a workshop at home and now produces beautiful and unique glass beads and jewelry, indulging and sharing her own personal creativity. She had the courage and inspiration to follow her dream - and now it is a reality!
